How to be anorexic with Meal Replacements

Meal replacements are nutritionally formula foods ( balanced ). They are in the form of soups, shakes, bars, etc. They are made to replace the main meals during the day. In this way it can make the person anorexic by eating foods of very low calorie content.

These effects were compared to a control group. The later group took a traditional weight loss diet.

Ditschuneit et al observed the long term benefits for about 4 years. Here are the results :

1- Weight loss of about 11%. In control group, only 8%.

2- The blood pressure improved by (-11%)

3- The triglycerides improved by (-37%).

4- The glucose level improved by (-11%).

5- Reduction (improvement) in level of LDL.

6- A reduction of about 15% in total cholesterol level.

Conclusion : Meal Replacements not only led to weight loss, but also improved the general health especially the cardiovascular system. May be we can notice that this type of diet can make the person anorexic and able to lose weight without suffering too much of hunger.
