Meal

form of soups, shakes, bars, etc. They are made to replace the main meals
during the day. In this way it can make the person anorexic by eating foods
of very low calorie content.
The resulting constitute contains from 150- 500 kcal.
The consumer selects the remainder of the days intake
carefully. He is guided by educational and supportive material. This
supportive and educational material is supplied as part of this weight loss
diet.
Fortunately, there are researches done to show the effect
of the meal replacements.

replacements on :
1- Weight loss.
2- Disease risk biomarkers.
3- Effect on the appetite and how it makes the person
anorexic.
These effects were compared to a control group. The later
group took a traditional weight loss diet.
Ditschuneit et al observed the long term benefits for
about 4 years. Here are the results :
1- Weight loss of about 11%. In control group, only 8%.
2- The blood pressure improved by (-11%)
3- The triglycerides improved by (-37%).
4- The glucose level improved by (-11%).
5- Reduction (improvement) in level of LDL.
6- A reduction of about 15% in total cholesterol level.
