How to be anorexic with high fibre diet
High-fibre Diets
There are many weight loss dietary supplements with high-fibre
content. For example, the F-plan
diet. This diet was created in the 1980s. It teaches the dieters to increase
their fibre intake in their food.
The fibre increases the bulk of the food after being
mixed with fluids in the stomach. This may give the feeling of full stomach
and satiety while supplying the body with minimal calories.
Of course what is mentioned is more or less theoretical
more than being scientifically true. The theoretical basis is very simple.
The low energy dense foods displace the high energy dense foods. Of course,
this theory is good. We may find that in many cases this logic does not
work. There is a failure rate. The problem is that the center of satiety in
brain is not affected by the full stomach as it is affected by the calorie
or glucose level in the blood. We may now try to discuss the meaning of the
word hungry. Of course, we used to understand the word "I am hungry" as "I
have empty stomach". The more accurate meaning of the word "I am hungry" is
"I am hungry to calories" or simply, I have low blood sugar".
How to be anorexic with high fibre diets?:
Of course, what is mentioned does not try to cancel the
importance of fibre content in the weight loss diets. The fibre content of
the weight loss diet still has a major part
in reducing the rate of elevation of the blood sugar. This helps in reducing
also the rate of elevation of insulin hormone as a response to the blood
sugar elevation. This in turn helps only in reducing the effect of "rebound
phenomena". And that is ok.
The rebound phenomena means : If we eat fast any type of
food with high sugar content, this will lead to brisk elevation of our blood
sugar. This leads to brisk elevation of insulin level. Insulin will consume
most of the blood sugar leading to lowering of the blood sugar very fast and
making us very hungry again very fast. On the other side, if we eat slowly
any type of food with low sugar content, this will lead to slow and low
increase of insulin level leaving our blood sugar high for a long time
making us feeling satiety or anorexic for long.
This understanding may be of help in regulating and
preparing our weight loss diets, and also in answering the
frequently asked question" how to be
anorexic.
