How to be Anorexic and Weight Loss

Weight loss plans

The realistic Goals of the weight loss plans

It is very important for the obese person to know the realistic goals of the weight loss plans.

If we ask many patients how much weight loss they expect from the weight loss plans, we may find that the average response is from 35% to 40% of their total body weight. They may consider 25% a satisfactory result. The majority of the patients were disappointed with the number 10%.

May be it is possible for some patients to lose as much as 40 to 50% of their total body weight but this is uncommon. The majority of the patients should expect to lose only 10% of their body weight ( over a period of 3 to 6 months ).

It is of utmost importance to tell the patient that a loss of 10% is great for him. We should also mention the benefits of losing only 10% of BW.

The successful weight loss plans means:

1- Loss of weight of 10% or more of the total body weight or,

2- Losing 0.5-1 kg per week or,

3- Kcal deficit of 500-600 kcal daily.

4- As weight gain has occurred over a prolonged period, weight loss should also be a gradual process.

5- The patients who lose weight rapidly are more likely to regain their weight afterwards.

6- With good weight loss plans, the patient should avoid subsequent weight regain.
